Avenues Internal Medicine is pleased to be joined by Dr. Celia Garner, a board certified practitioner of internal medicine. After earning her medical degree from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Garner treated a diverse patient base as an intern and resident at Boston Medical Center in Massachusetts. She spent an additional year in her internal medicine residency as Chief Resident at the medical center. During this time, Dr. Garner played a key role in conferences on mortality and morbidity and helped develop quality initiatives.

Dr. Garner has previously worked as a women's peer counselor and a public health intern with the Rhode Island Department of Public Health. She has also written grants for and helped develop community health centers in New York City. Her hobbies include running, salsa dancing, and playing the violin and piano.
